The transcription for viola da gamba is suggested by the Fitzwilliam autograph ms. 30.H.11: at the bottom of the sonata for violin and b. c. in G min. HWV 364a the incipit of the same sonata is given at the lower octave and in the alto clef with the indication Per la Viola da Gamba.
HWV 364a was later printed by Walsh, London, s. d. (c. 1731) as an oboe sonata.
