The Gavotte in D minor of this book (p. 86) is transcribed in A minor for viola da gamba in D-Kl 4° Ms. Mus. 185/6, fol. 5v-6r (tablature).

The possible intention for the viola da gamba is not specified in the title but in the Avertissement : Le but de cette impression est le Clavecin, la Viole et le Violon sur lesquels Instruments elles ont toujours été concerté . It remains an open question whether De Visée intended this to be a performance with the violin accompanied by viola da gamba and harpsichord, or whether he was suggesting various formations including one for treble or bass viola da gamba and b.c.
