Cutting, Francis
For the tenor and violle, for tenor viol in tablature and bass viol
GB-Ob ms.mus.sch. D.245-246 Merro (tenor viol: D.245, pp. 212-213; bass viol: D.246, p. 230)
VdGSGB Suppl. Publication
The tenor viol is notated in tablature, the bass viol in staff notation.
The piece is an arrangement of a composition for lute by Cutting, surviving in several manuscripts (see VdGS index). The demand for the tenor viol should therefore be due to the identical tuning, which keeps the piece in the same tone.
