The name “Mons.r Marteau d'acier” is probably a Frenchified rendering of Otto Fredrik Stålhammars’ name. The association with Franz Xaver Hammer, proposed by RISM A/II, seems weak for chronological reasons, because the manuscript is datable to the early 18th century.
Written in the French violin clef, the piece requires a treble viol.
