The title of the cantata calls for 2 or 3 violas da gamba; in the score, the first and second instrumental parts are marked «Violadig: 1» resp. «Violadig:2», while the third part, which is noted a tone above, bears the indication «Fagotto transposito. soll allezeit 1 ton tieffer spielen» (”transposed bassoon, to be played always one tone lower”).
