This is an anonymous transcription from the quartets for two violins, viola and cello n° 2 and n° 5 in Six Quartettos for Two Violins, a Tenor and Violoncello Obligati , op. 8, London, Bremner, author, 1768, WKO 62 and WKO 65.
In this transcription, the viola da gamba plays the part of the first violin one octave lower.
