transcription of: Froberger, Johann Jacob (Jakob)
14 dance movements for «Violino et Viola Sol:» / «Violino è Viola di Gamba».
Transcription of single movements from the partitas for keyboard instrument FbWV 602, FbWV 603, FbWV 611, FbWV 612, FbVW 628a, FbWV 637, and from one otherwise unknown Saraband.
D-W, Cod. Guelf. 34.7 Aug.2° (Jakob Ludwig Partitur Buch), pp. 23-27, nn. 8-21
For details on concordances see Eichler. Only the concordance of the Saraband in G major, No. 14, is unknown. Since it is highly probable that this Saraband also stems from a harpsichord version, we have here the trace of an otherwise lost partita in G major by Froberger.
The abbreviated instrumental indication «Violino et Viola Sol:» is found at the beginning of the score (p. 23), the full indication «Violino è Viola di Gamba» in the corresponding index entry (p. 272).
