The edition, which appeared posthumously, was prepared by the composer's son Jean Baptiste Antoine, who included three pieces of his own composition (see).
The chaconne La Buisson of the second suite is also found among the pieces following the Principes du violon by L'Abbé le fils, transcribed for 2 violins or perhaps also for 2 pardessus de viole, since the Principes – according to a note on its title page – can also be used by pardessus players.
