Johnson, Robert
For the Tenor violl (piece for lyra viol and bass)
GB-Ob ms.mus.sch. D.245-246 Merro (245: p. 213, 246: p. 230)
The piece is an arrangement of a pavan for lute by Johnson, surviving in GB-Lbl Add. ms 38539 and GB-Cfm Ms 689. The demand for the tenor viol should therefore be due to the identical tuning, which keeps the piece in the same tone.
