notes

The instrumentation indicated in the autograph is "For two Violins, 2 Base Violls and 2 Theorbos", moreover on the part of the theorbos we find the indication "Thoroubase, for 2 theorbos". The sources of an older version of these pieces, scored for 2 treble, 1 tenor and 1 bass instrument, do not specify any instrumentation; therefore they are not considered here.

For a detailed comparison of sources see VdGS index.
