The bass part bears no instrumental indication, but certain idiomatic elements and a comparison with other sonatas composed or copied by Hammer and preserved under the same collocation D-SWl mus. 2285, make it likely that it was intended for the cello.
The manuscript also contains a loose sheet with three anonymous movements for solo viola da gamba (see).
