anonymous (attributed conjecturally to Joseph Fiala or Franz Xaver Hammer)
Concertino a Viola da gamba con Violino obligato e Violoncello, ReiF 4.52; 11.02
The Concertino has been attributed to Fiala by C. Meyer and P. Rubardt; it could also be attributed to Hammer.
The viola da gamba part is notated in D major, those of the violin in E flat major, while for the cello there is both a part in D major and one in E flat major. It is probable that the viola da gamba – which plays a decidedly solo role in this Concertino – was tuned a semitone higher to achieve greater sonority.
