anonymous
Fantasia without title and author, for an unspecified bass instrument.
The piece is without indication of instrumentation, but the range (D-b') and the final chord make it likely to be for bass viol. It is the last of a group of six pieces (D.246, pp. 107-118), the first five of which are for an unspecified treble instrument.
It is the low octave paraphrase of the Fantasia in the manuscript D-B ms. mus. 114 (olim PL-WRu 114), pp. 28v-29r, probably for violin. The first piece in the same group (D.246, pp. 107) also paraphrases a Fantasia in the manuscript D-B 114, p. 8v-9r.
