The manuscript is anonymous; the attribution is based on the catalogue of the Michaeliskirche in Lüneburg where a piece with the same text, scoring and tonality is recorded under the name of Christian Flor (Seiffert-1908, p. 604).
The instrumentation is normally described as 2 viola da braccio and 3 viole da gamba, but on one separate part of the Canto the title is "Canto solo. Con 5 Viole di Gamba".
There is a Swedish version of the vocal part.
