A-Wn Mus. Hs. 16286, ff. 16v-24v
Strümper, Viennese music with viols (sinfonia from Gli argonauti)
The Sinfonia is devided in 3 parts; the first (ff. 16v-17v) and the third (ff. 23v-24v) are scored for three violas da gamba, basso di viola and b. c., the second part (ff. 18r-23v) is scored for violin, three violas da gamba and bc. Especially in this part, all the violas da gamba have some solo passages.
Draghi used the music of this second part of the Sinfonia already in his Gli argonauti in viaggio , Wien, 1682 (ms. A-Wn ms. 18892, ff. 34ss; http://data.onb.ac.at), scored likewise for one high and three bass instruments and b. c., but without any instrumental indication.
