anonymous (attributed to Sebastian Bodinus)
6 Sonatas pour Violino Solo, et Viola da Gamba (title on the envelope) or pour Viola da Gamba solo et Violino (title in the score), in G maj., E min., E min, A min., D maj., G maj.
D-ROu Mus. saec. XVII 18-51.19 (score)
Cornetto (transcribed for bass viol and bc)
The upper part is written in French treble clef (g1), the lowest note is g, and the part is perfectly suitable for a violin. The lower part is a normal bass, with occasional figures. The sonatas may be intended as duets for violin and bass viol, but in spite of the title in the score, the viola da gamba has no soloistic role.
The attribution is based on the handwriting (v. RISM).
